We use the service Meetup.com for scheduling our events, and keeping our members notified about what's happening. We strongly suggest that you become a member of our Meetup group just for this reason alone, but the discussion list associated with the group is also very active.
HAO Meetup Mailing List Archive
The HAO also maintains another mailing list that has existed for many years that is reserved for official members. This list is usually used for discussing governance matters. When becoming an official member of the HAO you can chose whether or not you would like to take part in this list.
